UFOs in
Hardy County, West Virginia
Filmmaker Ray Schmitt interviewed friends, neighbors, and other
local people about UFOs and strange phenomena they have been seeing
above the skies in Hardy County, WV. People began contacting Schmitt
after they heard about the sci-fi film he made called “The Lights”
(see film page). That film was shot in the Lost River Valley area in
northeastern West Virginia and was based on an account that Schmitt
heard about strange lights streaking across the sky in the nearby
Shenandoah Valley. Local people began contacting Schmitt about what
they had seen in Hardy County. Many agreed to be interviewed on
camera while others preferred to remain anonymous. But their stories
are unique inasmuch as they all occurred in Schmitt’s “own
backyard.” These stories are absolutely amazing and beg for a
scientific explanation. DVD copies of "UFOs in Hardy County, WV" (28
mins.) are available by check only for $21.90 (which includes
postage and handling) from Real Earth Productions, 2701 Crab Run
Road, Mathias, WV 26812.

The
Octoberfest Gathering
"The Octoberfest Gathering", a new bluegrass and acoustic music film
by Judy and Ray Schmitt, is now available. The 95 minute documentary
celebrates 30 years of gatherings at the Schmitt's farm at Eagle's
Nest, in Mathias, West Virginia. Featured in 2004 was a lawn concert
on a hay wagon stage in the meadow and commemorative T-shirts. Many
fine bluegrass and acoustic musicians participated in the concert
with folks attending from all across the United States. The film
includes archival still and video footage, and profiles several of
the personalities that help to define the Gathering. DVD copies are
available by check only for $21.90 (which includes postage and
handling) from Real Earth Productions, 2701 Crab Run Road, Mathias,
